Dear old Tocai

We allow this variety to stay longer on the plant in order to give it the possibility to express more character, and it surprised us once more.

Last weeks in Friuli were characterized by hot days and humid nights, two conditions typical also in Sauternes where Sémillon, a variety related to our Tocai and with the same fragile skin, develops “pourriture noble” (noble rot). That is also the case of this year’s Tocai.

A perfect ripeness which makes us expect a great vintage.
